Using the service
Caprine Compass is a recordkeeping and planning service for dairy-goat families, exhibitors, and herd managers. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter, for protecting your account credentials, and for ensuring that people you invite have appropriate access.
Not veterinary, medical, legal, tax, or financial advice
The app may summarize dates, records, trends, goals, expenses, show information, and other user-entered data. It is not a substitute for a veterinarian or other qualified professional. Medication doses, treatment decisions, withdrawal periods, breeding decisions, tax treatment, and other regulated or professional decisions remain your responsibility. Where the app displays a user-entered withdrawal-through date, it does not independently verify or calculate that interval.
Family accounts and permissions
A family Owner controls the family account and may invite other users. Administrators and other roles receive the permissions shown in the app. The Independent Exhibitor role provides broader herd/project management access than the Exhibitor role but does not provide family administration, billing, or family financial access. Removing a person from a family removes future access but does not automatically delete family herd history created while that person had access. The current Owner may transfer ownership to another active family member.
Subscriptions
The Free plan supports up to five active goats. Premium Family is offered at the prices shown in the app and may include a one-time trial. Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Subscription renewal, cancellation, payment methods, invoices, and applicable payment terms are managed through the billing workflow and Stripe-hosted customer tools.
Your content
You retain ownership of the records, photos, documents, and other content you submit. You grant the service permission to store, process, display, transform, and transmit that content only as needed to operate the product, provide requested features, maintain backups and exports, and protect or improve the service.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service to break the law, interfere with the service, attempt to access another family’s data without authorization, upload malicious content, misuse notification or invitation systems, or store content you do not have permission to use.
Availability and beta software
Private-beta and pre-release features may change, contain defects, or be temporarily unavailable. You should keep independent copies of important records and use the Data Safety export tools as appropriate. The service may be updated, limited, suspended, or discontinued.
Family and account deletion
A family Owner can permanently delete an owned family through the Account & Data workflow after confirming the current password, the herd name, and a destructive-action phrase. Family deletion is blocked while Premium is active so an active subscription is not orphaned. Deleting a family is intended to remove that family's application records and referenced private cloud files and cannot be undone.
Eligible signed-in users can permanently delete their personal login through the account-management workflow after confirming their password. Owners cannot delete their login while they still own a family; they must first transfer ownership or delete each owned family. Deleting an individual login does not delete shared family herd history.
Limitation of responsibility
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without guarantees that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. You remain responsible for livestock care, official registrations, show entries, legal compliance, taxes, record retention, and decisions made from information stored or summarized in the app.
Changes
These terms may be updated as the product changes. Continued use after updated terms are published means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.
